'I have been into vintage jewelry for a long time and the only jewelry pieces I wear apart from my own creations are vintage. With my mum, wearing vintage jewelry was ‘our’ thing when I was young.
I like to focus on ‘archetypes’ or tried-and-true staples: The Coin necklace, diamonds bracelet, dome ring, and this gorgeous Cartier watch that is sold unfortunately - I have been looking for the same for months!'
What’s your go-to fine jewelry piece for everyday?
I never leave without my 3 ‘twin’ bracelets (one for each son) that I designed when I was pregnant. Usually I will wear my Cartier Belt watch next to them, and around my neck a ‘Alphajoaillerie’ necklace in gold and diamonds featuring the first letters of my family's names. One ring I never take off is a made-to-measure ‘Surma’ ring in 18k gold with a big tourmaline.
What’s your most treasured vintage jewelry piece?
When I was 10, my grandmother gave me a thin bracelet made from a very simple chain. It’s what we call a ‘Jaseron’.
Now it’s a bit too small, but it’s the chain I have always incorporated in my collections since beginning my own brand, whenever I need a classic style.
