Emanuel Ungaro
Beginning his career in the late ‘50s, Emanuel Ungaro worked as an apprentice in the Parisian ateliers of Balenciaga and Courrèges. Opening his namesake label in 1965, the designer molded his stylistic grand couturier identity through exquisite draping and vibrant prints. Ungaro’s distinguished flamboyance dominated late ‘70s/1980s fashion while attracting a multitude of style icons from Bianca Jagger to Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis.
