- The M51(1951) was part of the standard American combat uniform throughout the 1950s, later evolving into the famed M65. Invisible snaps/aluminum zip and buttoned cuffs distinguish the piece from it's predecessor, the original M43 field parka.
- First worn by combat soldiers then later by actors and rockstars alike, the highly popularized field jacket transcends the military wardrobe.
